Upcoming Parenting Classes at Waverly
There will be two parenting classes held at Waverly every Thursday evening beginning on April 6th.
Free dinner will be provided at 5:30 pm. The classes will begin at 6:00 pm and end at 8:00 pm. There will be free on-site child care. There is no cost to attend and there will be free children’s books for families to take home.
One class will be in Spanish, “Abriendo Puertas” and the other class will be in English, “Make Parenting a Pleasure”. Both classes will run for 10 weeks. We hope to see you there.
Ballot Measure 22-155 Facility Upgrades for Waverly Elementary
If Ballot Measure 22-165 is approved by voters, all schools will see facility improvements.
Here are the facility improvements planned for Waverly Elementary:
Waverly Literacy Night (March 23, 2017 5:00pm-6:30pm)
Waverly will be hosting a Literacy Night on Thursday March 23 from 5:00pm to 6:30pm.
This year’s theme: promoting reading in a special place.
Dinner will be provided. There will be several different literacy activities happening along with several prizes (books, animal beanbag chairs, and Red Robin gift cards) being raffled away.
We will also be giving away books to everyone who attends the event.

Waverly Jog-a-Thon Results
On February 17, we held a Jog-a-Thon in our gym. Students then had until March 1 to get pledges from family and friends.
The results are in. As a school, Waverly raised $2863.72.
Here are the top 2 classes that brought in the most money and earned an ice cream party:
Ms. Allaback’s class brought in $553.63 and Ms. Roberts class brought in $364.20.
