Senior Walk at Waverly Elementary

Before students walk across the stage to get their diplomas on graduation night, they walk through the halls of their elementary and middle school. The now annual event is a reminder of how far they have come and an inspiration to the students whose graduation dates are several years in the future.

5th Grade Promotion

5th Grade Promotion is happening in our gym at 5:30pm on Thursday, June 15.

We are asking that 5th grade students show up at 5:15pm and meet in their classroom so that we can start right at 5:30pm.

There will be snacks/treats and time to take pictures afterwards.

We hope to see you there to celebrate this event our 5th grade students will experience.

‘Thank You’ Coffee Hour

On Tuesday June 6 from 8:30am-9:30am, Waverly hosted a ‘thank-you’ coffee hour for our Waverly school volunteers and community partners.
There was coffee, tea, fresh fruit, and breakfast treats in the cafeteria to acknowledge our wonderful volunteers and community partners who devoted their time and talent to Waverly school and students this school year.  Special thank you to the following individuals:

Congratulations, Retirees!

The annual retiree reception recognized the contributions of 30 GAPS teachers, classified staff and administrators who are leaving the District after serving Greater Albany students for a combined total of 539 years.

Family members and friends joined retirees at the tropical paradise-themed reception. Human Resources Director Randy Lary introduced the following retirees:

Bond project planning has started

Bond project timelines were discussed during the last School Board meeting on May 18. The plan is to open three of the four new construction projects by start of school in fall 2019: new elementary school, rebuild of Oak Grove Elementary School, vocational space/gym at South Albany High school.

Phase 1 of West Albany High School is scheduled to be completed in summer 2020.
